From London

Leave M4 AT Junction 15 and take the 419 to Cirencester. When approaching Cirencester continue on the 419 to Stroud, you will also see a sign for Aston Down MOD. We are approx 7 miles out of Cirencester. The road is fairly straight. You will eventually come to a Texaco Garage on the left hand side and a pub called The White Horse. Continue until you see a road side café on the right in a lay-by. Immediately after the lay-by turn left to Minchinhampton and Aston Down. We are the second main turning off this road on the left and signposted Aston Down Mod and D.E.F.R.A as you turn left, drive passed the first Security gate which is Defra, we are the second gate on the right. As you drive in we are the first building on the left, stop please at security and they will advise you where to park.

From The M5

From the M5 exit at Junction 13 following signs for Stroud. Go over several Mini Roundabouts and at the second large roundabout by the Wicliffe Schhool playing field go right and take the by pass to miss Ebley (Signposted A419 Cirencester). At the end of the by pass go left at the roundabout and after 200 yards go right at the next roundabout. Almost immediately there are trafficlights and the road forks. Go left up the hill. At the top of the hill go straight over at the traffic lights, and continue up the hill till you come to cross roads next to pub.Go Right up the hill and over cattle grid. You are now on the common. Carry on the road now up and across Rodborough common. You will join road coming in from your left. You carry on past the Bear Hotel and stay on the road which now goes over Minchinhampton common. Eventually you will cross cattle grid continue on for another mile and three quarters and as the road starts to swing left there is a right turn Signposted MOD ASTON DOWN and D.E.F.R.A. Turn and we are the second gate on the right. (If you come to a T Junction onto the main A419 you have gone too far). The people at the security gate will point us out to you.

From Stroud

Following directions for Cirencester A419. 4 to 5 miles out of Stroud you climb out of the valley and villages. The turning to Aston Down is immediately on your right after the last left hand bend. If you pass the sign for the Cotswold Gliding Club on your right you have passed the turning. Now follow directions in paragraph above.
